This game gets compared to Devil May Cry a lot. Dmc released in 2001 and this was 2006 soooooo maybe. This is certainly one of their more actiony games, it's mostly been turn based by this point. I think Atlus were experimenting with different genres a lot more in the PS2 era, now they usually experiment with Persona spin-offs, I suppose that's safer than creating a whole new IP.
Personally, i've always been curious about this game and Digital Devil Saga, I want to tackle those two games this year too.
