In 1958 the Film Noir psycho thriller "Vertigo" by Alfred Hitchcock entered the cinemas. The movie used a nauseating effect which has ever since been reproduced lots of times, called the Dolly Zoom or the Vertigo Effect.

In Maya it's easy (and, of course, fun) to replicate it.

Due to copyright restrictions I cannot show you the clips in Hitchcock's movie which apply this effect. But you might want to have a look at this trailer of Vertigo and scroll forward to 2:05, then 2:50. In the original movie there are some more dolly zoom scenes, all very short, often shorter than a second.    • Vertigo Original Theatrical Trailer

The music: "Computer Animation" and "Fast PaintFX", composed and performed by me, Maximilian Schönherr, licensed via GEMA, Germany.
