What is the correct way to screw drywall onto a frame—along the profile or across it? Answer: the correct method is along, across, and even diagonally, but certain rules must be followed when assembling the frame. The direction of the sheets during sheathing depends on the position of the ceiling profiles.
Terminology: Ceiling profiles (PP or CD) in a frame can have different purposes and therefore are called differently. A PP that is screwed to the base via hangers is called the "main profile." A PP that is inserted between the main profiles and is not connected to the base ceiling is called the "bearing profile." Drywall can be screwed to either profile.
Drywall rules: 1) All joints must be on metal. 2) The free span for 12.5 mm gypsum boards without support profiles in one direction should not exceed 50 cm.
Several designs that comply with these rules and are recommended by material manufacturers for single-level frames:
1. Main profile with a 120 cm pitch, load-bearing lintels with a 50 cm pitch. The sheets are arranged along the main profile and are joined end-to-end on the load-bearing lintels.
2. Main profile with a 60 cm pitch, load-bearing lintels with a 50 cm pitch. The sheets are arranged along the main profile and are joined end-to-end on the load-bearing lintels.
3. Main profile with a 40 cm pitch, no load-bearing grid, only lintels made of ceiling profiles under the end joints of the sheets. In this frame, the load-bearing grid is installed only if technically necessary, as anchors for subsequent levels or cladding. 4. The main profile with a 30 cm pitch, without a grid of supporting profiles, is only present under the end joints of the sheathing. Used for water-cooled ceilings. Sheathing is applied in two layers along the main profile. A very rare type of frame.

5. The main profile with a 50 cm pitch. The plasterboard sheathing runs transversely to the main profile and is joined on it. Load-bearing crossbars made of ceiling profiles are installed under the long factory edges.
Two-level frames:

6. The main profiles of the upper level are in accordance with the technical specifications; the lower profiles are connected to the main profiles from below using two-level connectors. All profiles below are load-bearing.
6a. The supporting profiles with a 50 cm pitch are sheathed transversely to the supporting profiles, with standard sheets of 2 m, 2.5 m, 3 m, etc., lengths joined on them. Crossbars are installed under the factory edges.
6b. The load-bearing profiles are covered with gypsum board sheets at 40 cm intervals. Lintels made of ceiling profiles are installed along the load-bearing profiles and under the end joints.
