More info about that night:
It was a lovely friday night (02-06-'23) and it became one of the best nights in my life! I went to see the Australian singer-songwriter Pete Murray perform at Tivoli Vredenburg, Utrecht (The Netherlands). I just had surgery where they removed a huge nerve tumor in my lower back. During the concert I was in a wheelchair because it was too painful for me to be standing up for too long. The tumor was unfortunately not fully removed and was already growing back, causing a lot of pain. For some reason I had the idea of asking one of Pete's crew members if I could play one of his biggest hitsongs 'Opportunity' with him on stage. Normally I would never do such a thing, but something felt right about it that night. I walked into the crowd, asking a crew member if he could ask Pete if I could play with him. He went backstage and on the moment he came back, Pete started to play that very song! When he started his song 'Opportunity' I was standing in front of him, asking Pete if I can play it with him. Luckily he noticed me and he invited me on his stage... This song means a lot to me in so many ways, and because of this moment it just became even more special! This song is about that very moment where I asked Pete if I could come on stage and sing it with him. 'Never miss an opportunity'. For me, this was the very first song that I taught myself to play on a guitar. And there I was, playing on Pete Murray's guitar in front of his own crowd and I even had the guts to sing the backing vocals, something I hadn't done before! I still can't believe this happened to me and I am forever grateful! He also put his autograph on my upper arm so that I could make a tattoo out of it.
Pete and band: thank you so much, again! And thanks for all the nice conversations with you guys after the show. You really made me feel special and very appreciated. THANK YOU! ❤️
And a special thanks to both filmers Axel Karsdorp and E. de Boer for proving both the video's! I have their permission to use their footage to create this video. Without them this video would not be possible!
