[Touhou Style Original] [MIDI Video] DP Aleksei's Theme: Pleas are to be Seen and Not Heard
Another contest winner! This is 1 of 2 character themes composed for the winners of a contest in Danmaku Paradise, a Touhou roleplaying community. Some of their original characters are very inspired, so I wanted to honor them with a theme. I was originally only going to compose 1 theme on account of the very large time investment this is, but there was a tie, and I was so impressed with both of the winners that I decided to do both.

This theme is for Ram's character, who also helped facilitate the contest for me. Thanks Ram!
Aleksei is a ghost with a desire to make himself known, but due to his egoistic nature, he was cursed in life to be forgotten by all, a curse he would carry on into the afterlife. He is a masterful musician of many different types of instruments, which he can manipulate. I tried to capture his elegance, his intensity, and his longing in this song. I also wanted to include some elements of classical music and some non-standard rhythmic features, as they pertain to his expertise in performing.
Please share this song with people who like Touhou music!
The background art used in the video was created by Donnie Nunley.
