This objective focuses on understanding the concept and components of Software Defined Networking.
Software Defined Networking (SDN) is an approach to networking that uses software-based controllers or application programming interfaces (APIs) to communicate with underlying hardware infrastructure and direct traffic on a network.
SDN Controller: The central component of SDN that manages the flow control to the networking devices (switches, routers, etc.) through the southbound APIs.
Benefits of SDN:
Centralized Management: SDN allows for centralized control of the network, making it easier to manage and configure.
Flexibility: It provides the ability to quickly adapt to changing network conditions and requirements.
Examples of SDN:
