An Initial Trials Match (Sword Fight Sparring)
A trial at Sword Arts is a one minute continuous fight. If a fighter is dealt or deals out a solid hit they generally take a step back and continue the fight renewed. We do these to test fight weapons and styles against each other and to determine more suitable personal weapons for our members. Weapon Trials are for trying out new weapons or matching up against another style of swordsmanship and they usually go for about 1- 2 minutes. General Trials are for helping members find a weapon or style affinity and they go for 1 minute. Following each trial the entire group discusses their observations and offers recommendations to help new participants so they can better handle more intense matches in future. This trial was recorded in November 2012.
