The concept of orthogonality is crucial in the field of Design of Experiments as it provides insight into the independence of factors. When we say that factors are orthogonal, we mean that they are independent of each other, and changes in one factor do not affect the others. This is essential in experimental design as it allows us to isolate the effects of individual factors without interference from others.
