What is a CRB check?
A CRB check is a Criminal Records Bureau check that originally launched in 2002. The checks were in place until the introduction of the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) in 2012. CRB checks are what DBS checks were previously known as, before the DBS replaced the Criminal Records Bureau as part of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012.
