“And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?” - Matthew 14:31, KJV
This song took probably three months to compose. Not because it’s particularly grand in any fashion, of course, but because I wanted it to feel right.
When I first started composing this song, it was only a loop from one of my other work-in-progresses. It sounded heavenly on its own, and I wanted it to be a part of a bigger theme which I then started building upon.
However, contrary to the title, I had many doubts, many-a-time considering just giving up. I couldn’t ever seem to compile this song the way I wanted it to feel.
Some nights it was the only outcome of having produced nothing of my own. Other nights it was both a stress reliever and the source of it.
But I kept working on it. A labor of determination to not doubt what it could become. Now I can finally share it knowing that, even though I doubted, I released those doubts and took my time to do it right.
