Abdal Zeybeği (Απτάλικο Ζεϊμπέκικο) by Ahmet Akarsu and his clones!
Abdal Zeybeği (Απτάλικο Ζεϊμπέκικο) - a traditional folk dance music piece from Cyprus, which has slightly different versions in Greece (Απτάλικο) and in Turkey (İzmir Kordon Zeybeği) - re-arranged and performed by Ahmet Akarsu and his clones! ;-) Sorry for the mistakes. I hope you like it! ;-)
The maqam is Mahur. The usul is oynak, which means that the rhythm is 3+2+2+2 version of 9/8. I have also tried to play a mahur taksim (an improvised solo in mahur maqam) near the end of the piece but it was my first improvisation trial in this maqam so I hope you would forgive my mistakes...
And a note for people who already know some version of this piece: My arrangement was influenced from the different versions that I have mentioned above but does not claim to be the same as any of them. So please do not be surprised or feel annoyed if you find that this is different from what you got used to listening so far...
