A 10 year old CPU is still pretty good
In 2014 Intel launched Haswell Refresh, updating the Thermal Interface Material and improving clock speeds. The i7-4790K is part of what Intel called Devil's Canyon!
Many people used this CPU and 10 years later its actually still perfectly usable.
I compared the once performance king to the popular Ryzen 5 3600, as well as an unusual, but fast Ryzen 7 5700.
I tested titles such as Lethal Company, Valheim, Overwatch 2, and Phasmophobia. While not the most demanding tasks, this CPU still holds its own against modern offerings.
