OPERATION VALKYRIE - Adolf Hitler was a highly popular dictator of Germany for about a decade, but when the tides of the second world war turned against him and against Germany many people's dislike for him came to the surface. Several Wehrmacht officers disliked Hitler so much they decided they wanted to kill him, and on the 20th of July 1944 they came really close through a plot known to history as Operation Valkyrie.
