Zaya message for Sal , KhanAcademy
Airun zaya is 15 years old and a resident at Lotus Children Center Mongolia which offers home to over 100 orphans and street children in Ulaanbaatar , Mongolia. She talks about how much she loved working with KhanAcademy videos and translating them over the summer. She was given an internship with Teachaclass project which setup hotspots in her orphanage in Mongolia and she translated over 150 lesson from English to Mongolia. She worked very closely with Neil (co-foudner of Teachaclass) and eventually trained other high school children to also participate in translating and contributing to the project.
Zaya felt that she learnt a lot about math during the internship , something that her regular teacher could not explain clearly to her. It was this attraction to Khanacademy that kept driving her to do more . She was eventually presented with a laptop and tools to translate and learn from KhanAcademy even after her internship was over.
