About IMAF festival:
International Multimedial Art Festival – IMAF is an annual event dedicated to performance art. International Festival of Multimedial Arts – IMAF has created a context in which different artists of various nationalities and age come together and, through their individual work, create a variety of research and suggestions on the medium of body and performance. As such, IMAF is not merely a festival, but a place where new ideas and conditions of performance, in the broader sense of art, become evolutionarily classified and researched. This makes it progressive and proactive, a space focused solely on developing new thoughts and ideas.More of the festival: www.imaf-festival.weebly.com

About artist:
Eva Dabara is an interdisciplinary visual artist and performer based in Tel-aviv, Israel. She studied philosophy and English Literature at Tel-Aviv University and at Camera Obscura school of art Tel-Aviv. She published 3 books of poetry and won a literary prize.
An adventurous and defining year in the Caribbean Islands produced the poetry book "Paradise Episodes", a literary radio program, a solo exhibition "Bermuda Triangle" and a poetry-dance performance.
Eva Dabara shifts between multiple disciplines including photography, text, video and other time-based works. A common thread in her practice since 2005 is the use of her own body as a central tool and methods of performance art.
She focuses on and explores the interaction between images, text and the moving body juxtaposing and confronting each other. While creating a critical view of the individual and of social/political circumstances, she is raising issues of sexuality, conventions, human relations and the tough existence of her country.
Eva Dabara has participated in numerous exhibitions and performance art festivals both locally and internationally: in London, New-York, Portugal, Serbia, Chicago, Hamburg, Buenos Aires, Sofia, Bolivia, Kassel Germany, Budapest and in a poetry project at the 53rd Venice Biennale among others.

About performance:
The performance SIREN confronts two extremely different cultural ceremonies: A siren of 2-minute silence in memory of Israel's fallen soldiers, marking the day before Independence Day, versus a traditional Japanese tea-drinking ritual by a Geisha, a siren in her own right.
The two rituals create a cross-cultural fusion that draws a line between
eroticism and death.
