COVID-19 The Freshman Class
(Showing Our Sass: Season 1 Bonus Episode)

In this special bonus episode I talk with two of my mentees, Dayja and Malik about the experience of being in their Freshman Year of college when the COVID-19 lockdown order went into effect. A lot of attention has been focused on the impact of COVID-19 in the K-12 but on this 2nd anniversary of the COVID-19 U.S.A. lockdown order I thought it would be interesting to explore the impacts from the perspective of students who were navigating the transition from high school to college which is already rife with challenges without the added stressor of a global pandemic. It is interesting to look back in time and listen to the perspectives we captured and listen today to see how on point many of those observations and future predictions were that came out of this May 2020 conversation. We’re giving you a peak into our May 2020 check in with a little time travel and the perspective is a little eye popping even now. We hope you enjoy our little chat and encourage you to share your reflections in the comments section below.
