How To Mix Colors | Primary Colors | Make Different Color Paint | How To Make Brown, Gray & More

I loved making this video! #Mixing colours fascinates me and has done since we learnt about the #colour wheel in school. Knowing where the #primary colours (red, yellow, blue) and #secondary colours (orange, green, purple) sit on the wheel can provide a great foundation to build your #color knowledge on.
Maybe you love a certain colour but it doesn’t seem to fit in with the rest of the colour scheme you want to use. It could simply be the temperature of that colour that's causing the issue; and you now know how to change that. Try cooling it down or warming it up and see if the new shade fits in.
You might want to change a colour that I didn’t cover in this video, for example, Fuchsia. My advice would be, follow the same guidance for the red example because fuchsia is closest to that colour. If the colour you wanted to change was lime green, then use the example I showed for tweaking green, and so on. This is where the colour wheel can also come in handy.
It’s also very important to remember that the examples in my video are just simple guides and are not there to limit you in any way. For example, when I made the orange colour, I said add red and yellow. This is a basic ‘rule’ to get you to an obvious orange shade. However, you can also add in blue and white to create all sorts of different shades of orange (like when I added blue to mute it later on). Same goes for when I add just one colour to cool something down or warm it up. That doesn’t mean that only 1 colour can be added; you can have a warm muted colour for example. It’s just a super simplified way of indicating how each primary colour on it’s own can change things up.
The range of pre-mixed colours out there today is huge so most of the time you can find exactly what you want….but there’s something so organic-looking about mixing your very own colour or adapting ones you already have.
