Course Content Design with ChatGPT: 2023 : Part 2
In this episode of the "AI-assisted course creation" series 📚🤖, we use the AI model "Emily" to continue generating course content. We start off by asking Emily, aka ChatGPT, to identify key theoretical concepts, provide a brief verbal introduction 🗣, create a written description of the activities 📝, and come up with creative hooks for teaching concepts, such as analogies, anecdotes, and real-world examples 🌍.
We then ask Emily to come up with three different ways to relay the theoretical concepts to students creatively 🎨. Emily, aka ChatGPT, provides analogies, anecdotes, and examples to use for this purpose 🤔.
Next, we ask ChatGPT for other creative ways to introduce concepts to students. ChatGPT provides several suggestions such as storytelling 📖, use of visual aids 🎨, guest speakers 👥, use of multimedia 🎬, demonstrations 👩🔬, comparisons 🔍, and real-world applications 🌐.
We then ask Emily, aka ChatGPT, to gather the best resources that a student can access either before, during, or after attempting the activity 📚. ChatGPT comes up with a diverse set of resources including books 📚, podcasts 🎧, videos 📹, webinars 💻, case studies 📂, other courses 📑, and tools 🔧.
Lastly, we ask Emily to generate an actual script for their class, detailing what should be said and when to switch slides 📃. ChatGPT comes up with a detailed script incorporating the detective analogy 🔍, real-world examples, and case studies. The script includes speaker labels 🏷, slide changes 🔄, and the desired analogies and examples 🎉.
