✔️The silkie chicken, also known as the Japanese silkie or Chinese silkie, is a breed of chicken named for its atypically fluffy plumage, which is said to feel like silk and satin.
It has several other unusual qualities, such as black skin and bones, blue earlobes, and five toes on each foot, while most hens only have four. They are often exhibited at poultry shows and appear in various colors. In addition to their distinctive physical characteristics, they are well known for their calm and friendly temperament. They are among the most docile birds. They are exceptionally broody and take good care of their young. Although they lay only about three eggs per week, they are commonly used to incubate eggs of other breeds and species of birds due to their broody nature. Silkie chickens are very easy to keep as pets and suitable for children, but like any pet, they must be handled with care.
