Lyrics:
So this is the start of a new beginning
And I swear it’s not goodbye
It’s just that time sends us in different directions
But we’ll end up where we’re meant to be
And I never thought that I would see
All the best that you’ve always seen in me
They can take their hate back
I’m a shining light
I put my wings back together that you tore apart
Now I’m piercing through the sky
Now I’ll live up to
My potential because it’s infinite
Haven’t felt this at peace in a while
What else do I need to prove
When I’m everything that I need to be
Listen, so you feel like the world is ending
Please hold onto your goodbyes
Just know tomorrow is another chance to
Make it right you got to believe
This is exactly what I mean
When we could be anything we want to be
They can take their hate back
You’re a shining light
You’ve held it together for so long
It’s okay to cry sometimes
I know you’ll live up to
Your potential because you are enough
And I know it can be hard to smile
What else do you need to prove
When you’re everything that you need to be
And I promise it’s not goodbye
It’s just the start of another life
And like a phoenix we will rise
And legends never die
They can take their hate back
You’re a shining light
You wipe the tears from your eyes
We all fall apart sometimes
I know we’ll live up to
Our potential because we are enough
And I’m dying to see you smile
What else do we need to prove
(This is exactly what I mean)
When we’re everything that we need to be
(When we could be anything, we want to be)
