In this video, learn what is the difference between Brand Restriction and Brand Exclusion in Google Ads.
Google has recently introduced the feature "Brand List", which allow you to create a list of brands to restrict to or exclude from your campaign in Google Ads. This list serves you both purpose, restriction and exclusion.
Restriction means to restrict your campaign to the provided list of brand only. It means your ads will appear only when someone searches the brand name that you added in your list, else it will not appear.
Brand Restriction is generally used with Search campaigns with Broad match combined with conversion or conversion value bidding strategy.
While Exclusion means stopping from appearing. It means when someone search a brand, present in your brand list, google will stop showing your campaign to that search. This is generally used for the Performance Max Campaign.
