Spreadsheets Excel Lesson 9: How to Compute for Divisions Using IF(AND) and VLOOKUP For Grades
Load a file called PERFORMANCE.XLSX and carry out the following
instructions:
a) Copy the work to sheet 3 of your workbook.
b) Rename sheet1 as ORIGINAL sheet2 and sheet3 as COMPUTED.
c) After the last subject, add three columnar labels for TOTAL, AVERAGE, AGGREGATE and DIVISION.
d) Hence, determine the values for total and average.
e) In the average column, change the values to zero (0) decimal places.
f) Insert a column for GRADE after each subject.
g) Using the LOOKUP function, assign grades to each student for every subject given that 75 - 100, 1; 70 - 74, 2; 65 - 69, 3; 60 - 64, 4; 55 - 59, 5; 45 - 54, 6, 40 - 44, 7; 35 - 39, 8 and 0 - 34, 9 respectively.
h) Add up all the grades for each subject and obtain total Aggregates
i) Using a function of your choice, assign a division for each student given that:
Division Condition
1 Aggregate less than or equal to 12 less than or equal to 6 in English and less than 9 in Mathematics.
2 Aggregate less than or equal to 24 English and less than 9.
3 Aggregate less than or equal to 32.
4 Aggregate less than or equal to 34.
5 Aggregate equal to 36.
j) Add an all-boarder style around your work.
k) Insert a footer of your name in sheet2.
l) Save the work as completed results.
m) Print the work in sheet COMPUTED only.
