FBCL Newscast: Summer Reading Challenge 2022
“Oceans of Possibilities” is the theme for FBCL's 2022 Summer Reading Challenge, designed to encourage reading among children from birth and up, as well as teens and adults. Online registration for the 2022 Summer Reading Challenge will begin on Monday, May 30, and continue through August 31. Children from infancy through school-age are invited to read a lot of great books and earn prizes for reading! Younger children will enjoy the “Youth Summer Reading Challenge,” while students in grades 6-8 can participate in the “Middle School Summer Challenge.” Teens in high school can participate with adults in the “YA/Adult Summer Reading Challenge.”
Readers may begin picking up their prizes on Monday, June 6, 2022. The last day to collect prizes is August 31.
As part of the Summer Reading Challenge, FBCL offers a variety of free programs every week for children of all ages. A schedule of all activities will become available as downloadable flyers on the Fort Bend County Libraries website.
Families of toddlers and preschoolers may pick up to-go activity packets from the library for the month. These packets contain fun craft activities that can be done at home.
Part of Fort Bend County Libraries’ Summer Reading Challenge 2022, materials for these activities and events are made possible by the Friends of the Library organizations.
