Glider landing in rain. Here in Australia gliders fly under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) with 5km horizontal visibility requirement at all times, so it is important to avoid rain that could reduce your visibility. Glider pilots also avoid zones of precipitation as they require more energy and speed to fly through. In this case the visibility was still good, I modified circuit to fly around the rain area, but still got some rain drops on the canopy. Shortly after landing the shower intensified, generously washed the glider and myself and disappeared into the evening sky. What an awesome day it was! 🤩
