Shot in 1972 by Roberta Findlay and directed by Bob Mason, THE LOVE LORDS was a softcore sexploitation film featuring Jeffrey Hurst (who starred in numerous x-rated films made by directors like Joe Sarno, Doris Wishman, Roberta Findlay, Chuck Vincent, Cecil Howard, and Bill Milling) in his first adult film role. In it, he get caught up in a hold-up at an office in the diamond district by a group of thugs which includes the ubitiquous Jamie Gillis. After the increasing permissiveness of hardcore sex in the movies and the arrival of "porno-chic", the film was updated to hardcore mode via inserts shot by Steve Ziplow who directed BREAKER BEAUTIES (1977), the title was changed to SATURDAY NIGHT SPECIAL and the new film, released in 1976, was credited to the non-existent "Sam Bloch".
