Sony has officially announced the PlayStation 5 Pro! In this video I bring you everything you need to know about the PS5 Pro: from its release date, price, to the hardware improvements it brings with it. The PlayStation 5 Pro will be released on November 7, 2024, with pre-orders available from September 26, 2024, and will be the ideal console for those looking for the latest in video game technology.

Among the main new features of the PS5 Pro is its improved GPU, with 67% more Compute Units compared to the standard PS5, which will allow for 45% faster rendering. In addition, its memory is 28% faster, which translates into reduced loading times and much smoother overall performance.

The PS5 Pro also takes ray tracing to a new level, allowing for much more realistic lighting and shadow effects, with speeds up to three times faster than the base model. This improvement will be key to achieving unprecedented realism in the most graphically demanding games.

Another notable feature is its 2TB internal storage in SSD format, which offers twice the capacity of the standard PS5. However, something surprising is the absence of an internal disk drive, which means that users who want to play games in physical format will have to purchase an external disk drive, available separately.

In addition, the PlayStation 5 Pro will include the new artificial intelligence scaling technology called PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR). This technology improves visual quality by adding additional details in games designed for 4K resolution, making the gaming experience even more immersive. It will also feature PS5 Pro Game Boost, a feature that will improve the performance of more than 8,500 PS4 games compatible with the new console.

One of the most exciting points is that the PS5 Pro will support 8K gaming and have Wi-Fi 7, allowing for faster downloads and a more stable connection. Additionally, the console will have a variable refresh rate (VRR), ensuring smoother, stutter-free gameplay.

Many games will receive free upgrades to take advantage of the PS5 Pro's new hardware, and will be labeled as PS5 Pro Enhanced. Some of the confirmed titles that will benefit from these improvements include Alan Wake 2, Assassin's Creed: Shadows, Demon's Souls, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Gran Turismo 7, Hogwarts Legacy, and Marvel's Spider-Man 2. This ensures that gamers will have access to the latest releases and titles enhanced with the most advanced technology.

As for the price, the PS5 Pro will go on sale for $699.99, which puts it $200 above the PS5 Slim, which does include an internal disc drive. If you want to pick up the external drive for the PS5 Pro, it'll cost an additional $79.99, bringing the total price up to $780.

The PlayStation 5 Pro will retain the signature black-and-white design of the original PS5, but Sony has already announced that it will be releasing additional colored covers so that gamers can customize their console. Additionally, while the console will come with a DualSense controller, the vertical stand will be sold separately — something to keep in mind if you prefer to keep your console upright.
