Americans Used Corn as Toilet Paper

Toilet paper as we know it was not available to early Americans. They had to get creative with what was available, and because corn was cheap and abundant, corn cobs were readily available. After the kernels were removed, the cob was surprisingly effective in place of toilet paper.
