The song "Amazing Grace" means a lot to me. It has a special power. Why is that, I asked myself. It describes the life experience of a man who has experienced a lot in his life, positive as well as negative, and in the end saw that it is God's grace that brings salvation.
Unfortunately, "grace" is a foreign word for many today. That is why I wish for you to experience grace. O grace of God wonderful.

Amazing Grace was written by John Newton after a special experience. John Newton was the captain of a slave ship. When he was in serious distress at sea in May 1748, he cried out to God for mercy and help.
After God miraculously heard him, he changed his life and became a Christian. God's grace changed him in such a way that the slaves noticed it clearly. A few years later, he became a clergyman and stood up for the fight against slavery.
