BRICS Summit 2024, the highlights
The 16th BRICS Summit, which took place in Kazan, Russia, from October 22 to 24, 2024, was all about "strengthening multilateralism." Alternative currencies, combating terrorism, and grain exchanges were among the topics. They reaffirmed that "all states should act in accordance with the purposes and principles of the UN Charter" and advocated for cultural integration into the G20 for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN Agenda 2030. They also launched their own vaccination agenda, the "BRICS R&D Vaccine Centre."
