How to buy a used car without getting scammed ... Two rules to follow
As you all know already, or maybe you don't because is the first of my videos you've watched, my law practice is dedicated to protecting consumer from fraud and predation.
Used cars are a HUGE source of fraud, and the ways that people get scammed are nearly infinite but there are two things you can do to protect yourself.
So, how to buy a used car without getting scammed:
First, Make friends with a mechanic! Drop by his shop. Say: "Billy, I've got $2,500 for a car and I need something to get me to and from work for the next couple of years. Waddya got?"
He is going to stand behind whatever he has for you. It might work out, because used cars are ... used cars after all, but you won't likely get scammed.
Second, if that is not the way you want to go, buy the car from a dealership with a Make in the name. Bob's Chevrolet, for example, is lightyears better than something like Route 95 Auto Mall.
You go to an independent small lot, you are dealing with the deep subprime financing companies and you WILL get screwed. And badly. Don't do it.
