How to Fix a small Leak in a Heating System - Adding Leak Sealer
Have you ever had a small leak in your Central Heating System which requires you topping up the water every so often, but you have no way of identifying where the leak is? If so, then this video is for you.
Firstly, try and identify where the source of the leak is, this could be a wet patch on a ceiling or rusted/corroded radiator thermostats. If you are unable to locate the leak, then unfortunately you either need to get a Plumber out at great expense (if the leak is severe and requires daily top-ups). Be warned though, even if a plumber is called out, they could end up ripping up floorboards or cutting holes in ceilings.
If the leak is subtle, then perhaps this video will help you, it definitely fixed my leak and two months on I've still not had to top-up the water in the boiler.
In this video, I will show you a simple DIY method of applying Fernox Central Heating Leak Sealer F4 Express via a Magnetic Filter (a radiator inlet can be used as well)
I will start with isolating the boiler, then continue with draining the system and finish with applying the Fernox Leak Sealer to the system.
