Government of India has banned 14 FDC using the powers of drugs and cosmetics act, 1940.
Because they did not have a therapeutic relevance and cause the side-effects
FDCs refer to drugs/tablets/pills containing one or more active ingredients.
Banned FDCS include Salbutamol, Hydroxyethyltheophylline, Etofylline, Bromhexine, Ammonium Chloride, Sodium Citrate, Chlorpheniramine Maleate, Menthol, Phenytoin, Phenobarbitone Sodium, Codeine Phosphate, Paracetamol, Phenylephrine, Guaiphenesin, Dextromethorphan, Nimesulide, Amoxicillin, Pholcodine, Promethazine
