Sure-Jell Recipe
This you will need:
8 cups fresh strawberries
1 pk Sure Jell
7 cups sugar
Dry Measuring cup, liquid measuring cup, large sauce pan/ pot, ladle, 2 large bowls, jars w/ lids & rings
1: Top & half all strawberries
2: Measure out 8 cups of strawberries into your sauce pan
3: measure your 7 cups of sugar into a separate bowl
4: add 1pkg of Sure Jell and 1 tsp of butter into strawberries as they are heating up
5: bring mixture to a rapid boil on high heat stirring constantly (a boil that doesn't stop bubbling when stirred)
6: add sugar to your fruit mixture and bring back to a rapid boil. Once back to a boil only allow to boil for 1 minute more. Remove from heat and skim and foam from surface.
7: Ladle immediately into warmed jars, filing each within a 1/4in from rim of jar. Wipe rim of jars, cover with lid and rings. Submerge jars in canner/ pot with at least 1-2in of water above the lid. Cover and bring water to a boil and cook for 10min.
8: After 10min remove from canner and place jars on a towel on the counter. Allow to rest at room temp for 24hrs before eating or storing. These are good for 3-4wks in the fridge after opening and 1yr stored in the pantry.
