I was finally able to send the audio from Ableton to OBS Studio without issues using the beautiful reastream VST from reaper:
Reaplugs VST: https://www.reaper.fm/reaplugs/
Steps:
1. download the VST
2. Install it on C:\Program Files\VSTPlugins\ReaPlugs (this is where OBS reads the VSTs). You will only need the "reastream-standalone"
3. If you have a personalized VST2 folder in your Ableton, copy the ReaPlugs folder to your Ableton folder also.
Now let's make it happen.
Ableton:
1. Open your desired project
2. Search for the VST "reastream-standalone" and drop it on the Master
3. You will send Audio to "*.local broadcast"
OBS:
1. Open OBS project
2. Add a new audio device
3. Select that device and open "Filters"
4. Click on the + and add a VST 2.x extension
5. now select reastream-standalone from the dropdown
You should see the audio on OBS comming from Ableton.
Now if you also have a microphone or some instrument plugged, you might be also receiving those signals, to fix this issue on the Filters page of the audio device, add "Gain" device, reduce the gain to the minimum and set the Fx to the top of the list. You might need to to this two times, meaning two gains to the minimum on the top and the vst2 at the end.
Hope this works! check my content here:
