Abby (Brian Frable)
I wrote this in commemoration of Abby French, daughter of Tom and Christy French. At birth, she was given a couple years to live at best. All her years she was completely dependent upon her parents and care-givers. Because of her robust spirit, she shined her brilliant light in this world for ten years. She died over 20 years ago, but as I sat in Tom and Christy's living room this last summer (2023), talking about the deep things of life, suffering, and death, I was moved to write this song. Though I personally did not know Abby, I wanted to be sure that her beautiful life continues to be remembered, for because of Abby, others were changed for the better. Her life reminds us that who we are is way more important than what we do. God bless the French family and their continued memory of their daughter and sister, Abby.
