Benedicto Chambo, a member of Parliament for Mangochi North, was recently caught on video in a disagreement with the police, which appeared to be a conflict between his constituents and the Malawi police service. This incident occurred at a time when he had been supporting the governing Malawi Congress Party, despite being a member of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP). It is unclear whether he is switching to the MCP or not. There are also questions about whether he will face any consequences for his altercation with the police.
