Alexander, another question: I'm planning to build a small house, about 170-180 square meters. I originally planned a beautiful hipped roof covered with cement-sand tiles. But after talking with an architect a while ago, I realized I'd be living in the house, not next to it. I decided to take a simpler approach. When commissioning the project, I decided to order a gable roof and cover it with metal tiles. It's less beautiful but more cost-effective. Especially since when walking, people tend to look straight ahead or at their feet, not at the roof. Now the question is, how reliable is this option, and more importantly, if I eventually need to convert the attic into habitable space, how practical will such a roof be? Maybe I should consider a hipped roof?

When designing a two-story cottage, which is cheaper and more reliable: a mansard roof or a classic gable roof with the second-story exterior walls raised to 1 meter, taking into account insulation, materials, etc.?
