The Endless Alley (J. Peters)
For the virtual organ recital Endlessness sponsored by Les Amis de L'orgue.
I’ve paired the Crab Canon with the Endless Alley because both consist in the possibility of an endless loop. The Crab Canon essentially turns itself over and continues again. And although the Endless Alley is not musically composed in an endless loop, visually it is. It’s an alley that one never leaves, just at the end of the alley, contemplating to leave the alley, to get free, the alley’s pull is too strong, and one returns.
