Raised in a religious cult, Petra was taught to put others first and live by a group mentality. Having no access to formal education she and others her age were groomed to save the world. No pressure, right?
Because these things are never just black and white, whilst Petra’s life might have got off to the worst start in the world, it also gave her much to be thankful for.
Despite the brainwashing, intense punishment, and the ostracisation she was subjected to, Petra was able to travel to other countries and she also became part of a beautifully blended sibling group.
As part of this year's #LXAcademy programme, Petra talked openly about how she turned her pain and fear into positivity, and she inspired us to do the same.
