Sylvia Batin - Bintang RTM 1986
Sylvia was a popular singing sensation in the late 80s. She is a Sabahan. She used to sing in Rentak Ria (local production in Sabah) and other programs with her cousins - calling themselves D'Tuareans (an area in Sabah where they all come from). She also produced an album called 'Mengapa' produced by a Sabahan writer and music producer.
When she joined Bintang RTM, it was a big upset amongst the audience because the winner and the 1st and 2nd runners up, were extremely poorly judged. It was perhaps Sylvia didn't have the right "background" to be named any of the top 3 during the finals. This is testament to the fact that she was very talented and deserves all the credits.
