In this short video we teach you how to switch your Internet Explorer experience into Edge Browser prior to Microsoft retiring the Internet Explorer browser. This is mostly for sites that need that older compatibility with Internet Explorer, such as DVR sites, banking sites, state and federal sites and sites that require older activex and such plugins.
On March 17, 2015, Microsoft announced that Microsoft Edge would replace Internet Explorer as the default browser on its Windows 10 devices. This effectively makes Internet Explorer 11 the last release. Internet Explorer, however, remains on Windows 10 and Windows Server 2019 primarily for enterprise purposes.[16][17] Since January 12, 2016, only Internet Explorer 11 has official support for consumers; extended support for Internet Explorer 10 ended on January 31, 2020.[18][19][20] Support varies based on the operating system's technical capabilities and its support life cycle.[21] On May 20, 2021, it was announced that full support for Internet Explorer would be discontinued on June 25, 2022.[22]
The browser has been scrutinized throughout its development for use of third-party technology (such as the source code of Spyglass Mosaic, used without royalty in early versions) and security and privacy vulnerabilities, and the United States and the European Union have alleged that integration of Internet Explorer with Windows has been to the detriment of fair browser competition.[23]
Fixing a conversion is simple
1. Make sure you have the latest windows updates (note this does not affect mac and MacOS products)
2. Open Edge Browser
3. Hit the three little dots on right side
4. Go to settings
5. Go to Default Browser on left side
6. Toggle "Allow" in center section of Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer
7. Hit the Restart button below the "allow" toggle
8. Open a site that required old Internet Explorer
9. Hit the 3 little dots on the top right and select "Reload in Internet Explorer Mode"
10. On the site pop up, toggle, "Open always in Internet Explorer Mode Next time"
11. Hit Done
That's it, your sites should show up, just remember to do this for sites that require IE or that older technology mode.
Note: Do not open internet explorer the older program with the e letter as it will not allow sites to load after June 15, 2022
