This is based on the Google Cardboard 2.0 specification and includes IPD adjustment for the lenses allowing you to slide the lenses into position for how far apart your eyes are (IPD), this make the experience much better and you are less likely to feel sick after prolonged use.
The lenses are much better than on an old 1.0 cardboard chinese knockoff from ebay and well worth paying the high price, of around $20.
