For this Columbus Metropolitan Library, Carnegie's only stipulations were that the community raise funds to operate the library and the words "My treasures are within" be etched into the front, where they remain today.
The Columbus Metropolitan Library is located in Columbus, Ohio, the state's capital and largest city. And the other hero in this story, John Pugh, was the head librarian for 50 years, and to this day, is the longest-serving library employee with a total of 65 years of service!
