Moonrise Over the Midnight Freighter - James R Barker
The moon is rising on the St. Mary's River. In the distance lights flicker as something moves up the river. The lights flicker and shift, almost alien-like, a UFO? Closer it comes moving towards us, we see it is a ship, a freighter. It is the James R. Barker steaming towards the Soo Locks after being stuck in the ice for several days. It sails to a haven of safety, Sault Ste. Marie. Framed by the moon, the Barker's searchlights pierce the night searching, almost feeling its way through the darkness, revealing the narrow passage of the river.
