Show Map Using Python |
Explaination :
In this post we are trying to create a python program which displays map of any location with full address and pointer
We are going to run this program in Jupyter notebook
Libraries used to create this program are geopy and folium
Run below pip command in shell to install these libraries :
pip install geopy # to install geopy
pip install folium # to install folium
Using geopy To Get Address, Latitide & Longitude
To get information such as postal code (zip code), city, neighborhoods, etc. Geopy makes API requests to Nominatim (a geocoding software used for OpenStreetMap), Google Maps, Bing Maps, and many others. One thing to note is that Geopy does not provide this info, but it simply helps the user connects to them, so it’s important for users to understand the terms, pricing, and limitations of each API. Nominatim, popular for small-scale projects, is a free option that allows a limited number of requests.
After getting Latitude and Longitude from geopy we will then pass those to folium to Create a Map of that Latitude and Longitude.
m=folium.Map(location=[location.latitude, location.longitude])
