I'm Benjamin Franklin and I want to tell you a short story... no, not about the 100 dollar bill, but about the first lighthouse in America.
Navigating the dangerous coastlines and cliffs of North America was a challenge for 18th century sailors.
There were many shipwrecks and therefore the decision was made to build a lighthouse.
On September 14, 1716, George Wartilak lit the first light on the 75-foot lighthouse on Little Brewster Island.
The lighthouse was named Boston Light and the history of lighthouses throughout America began with it.
Over 300 years, due to fires and wars, the lighthouse was repeatedly destroyed, but it was restored again and again.
After the American Revolution, it became not only a beacon of security, but also a symbol of American independence.
If you liked this story format, then in the next videos I will talk about my inventions and experiments at this lighthouse.
I can also tell you about the fate of the keepers of this lighthouse.
And now it's time for me to go.
Thanks for the meeting.
Have a good day.
