Where, in what place, did the Battle of Kulikovo take place, a global event, one of the largest in world history?
Why couldn't the battle have taken place on the estate of the landowner Nechayev in the Tula region, known only since the early 19th century? No significant finds or mass graves have been found, although in the 20th century, archaeologists combed every meter of the field with metal detectors and found several buckles and spearheads. The terrain doesn't match the descriptions. The remains of thousands of fallen soldiers have not been found. Yet the chronicles describe in detail how Dmitry Donskoy stood his ground for eight days, unable to leave the field until he had buried a huge number of the fallen.
