Getting the "Destination Folder Access Denied — You Need Permission To Perform This Action" popup every time you try to copy, move, or replace a file inside System32 or SysWOW64? This is a Windows permissions issue — not a virus, not a hardware fault — and it can be fully fixed in under 3 minutes without any third-party tools.

This happens because Windows 11 protects critical system folders like System32 from unauthorized modifications. Even with an Administrator account, you may not have direct write access until you manually take ownership and grant full control permissions. This tutorial walks you through exactly that.

Here's what this fix covers:

📁 Navigate to the protected folder — open File Explorer → C: drive → Windows → System32 (or SysWOW64 for 32-bit apps).

🔐 Change folder ownership — right-click → Properties → Security tab → Advanced → click Change next to Owner → assign ownership to your Administrator account.

✅ Apply to subfolders and files — check "Replace all child object permission entries" so the change cascades to every file inside the folder, not just the top level.

🛡️ Grant Full Control permissions — back in the Security tab, select your Administrator group → Edit → check Full Control → Apply → OK.

Once done, you'll be able to copy DLL files, replace system files, and manage protected folders without hitting the "Access Denied" popup again.

⚠️ Note: Taking ownership of System32 is for advanced users who need to manage specific system files. Only change permissions for the specific folder or file you need access to — don't change ownership of the entire Windows folder.
