This build uses the Better Magic add on to combine stealth, illusion, restoration and destruction. The goal is to be a stealthy AOE fire mage with a follower tank. It makes heavy use of the Flame Cloak spell's extended AOE and increased damage from the Better Magic add on. Illusion is used to muffle your movements and grant your follower tank courage. There is some slight off healing done on your tank while your flame cloak and flame wall spells dwindle down your foes.

The leveling progression should be 2-Magicka,1-Helath,0-Stamina. You need a huge mana pool because you will rely on dual casting for damage spells and that consumes a ton of mana. It should regen quickly if you gear properly, but without a big enough pool to begin with you can find yourself mana starved. You should rely on your Tank to take damage for you and some of heals on yourself or some mage armors for damage mitigation when you can't sneak out of a situation or use a tank. There is just no room for stamina, which means you will need to travel light and empty your bags often.

Enough points are put into Sneak to grant the muffle movement and light foot perks. You want to sneak around just far enough that your flame cloak catches the mobs but without being detected. The light foot perk is just a personal favorite of mine and makes dungeon traversing much less stressful.

The Entire Fire branch of the Destruction tree should be filled along with Apprentice, Adept, Expert and Master perks. These combined grant your massive AOE damage from flame cloak.

Illusion should include up to Quiet Casting and at least apprentice to increase the duration of your courage and muffle spells. The quiet casting is important for sniping foes with a fireball or firebolt. You can cast a fireball into an unknown room and watch the mobs gather around the flames in confusion so you can blast them all at once.

If you have points to spare you can put at least 1 into restoration to grant a boost to healing. And maybe 1 in alteration if you want to use any mage armors.

For profession skills I choose to split between alchemy and enchanting. I wanted to buff my tank and use absorb health on the weapon to aid with healing. For the mage gear, doing the College quest-line gives you the majority of the best items (Archmage's robes, mage circlet, and Morokei). The rest should be magicka regen and magicka fortify. I lucked out with a vendor having a 30% magicka regen ring. I also did the Gauldur Amulet quest line so I used that, since you never get to up your stamina. But there are plenty of better caster centric necklaces out there. For boots, pick either some resist other than fire (Better Magic add on grants resistance to fire when you choose fire perks). I chose shock resistance since that drains mana, but you probably run into way more frost encounters. If you use the apprentice stone, you will take more magicka damage, so maybe keep an extra pair of boots with you.

All-in-all this is a fun build to play with. You can use a tank or you can solo and use kiting and dodging.. maybe work in some runes here and there
