This week, Jochef in the Kitchen hosted Ashura, a dessert beloved in our country for its delicious flavor and spiritual significance. Abundant and nutritious, Ashura is one of our country's oldest desserts. While it can be a bit challenging to make, since it's never made in a small pot, you'll have plenty of Ashura to share with your loved ones :) All Ashura lovers know it's a dessert worth all the effort 🤭
We soaked the beans and chickpeas we were going to use for our Ashura in water, boiled them, and then peeled off the membranes.
You can add a little baking soda to the boiling water to make peeling them easier.
If you're looking to make a perfect dessert for your loved ones during the month of Ashura, you should try this recipe!
